The Learning Paper
The Learning Paper supports education of children and relieves poverty in developing
and third world countries.
We are an independent UK based charity established in 1999.

We initiate projects and work to inspire and resource communities to create local
ownership of projects and to collaborate within the community with private and public
sector organisations to ensure their sustainability.
In February 2007 with support from Carbon Capital,
see ‘Breaking the cycle of poverty’,
18,000 copies was circulated to 13 schools in Uganda and has been used in the classroom and at home by over 6440
children. It has been read in 2,500 households by parents and other family members,
resulting in over 10,000 people coming into contact with the Learning Paper.
In 2008 we aim to circulate 1.2 million copies of the Learning Paper in Uganda.
This will mean that 300,000 children in 600 schools across 6 districts will be
using the Leanring Paper. It will reach 120,000 households and one million people,
both children and adults.
To create the content for the paper we work with individual teachers, schools,
universities and educational publishers from the recipient country and from within
the United Kingdom. Presently we have a partnership with
St. George’s School in Edinburgh.
